Purchased the Snak Shak. Cafe in 1962. Jay had previously been a salesman for the HJ Heinz Company. Within two years the growth had exceeded the facility and plans for a new building were under way. This new building completed in 1964 became the home for Mickelsons Restaurant. For the next 30 years. The new building brought great success and sales increased above expectations.
